The Sunwrae Trio have just finshed a residence in Ballarat at the 'Backspace' arts venue. An initiative of the City of Ballarat, the Backspace Artist In Residence program saw Rae Howell and the Sunwrae Trio developing music for the upcoming 'Primavera' tour. It's looking to be a fabulous program!

from our Thornbury Theatre performance last year~ enjoy! And.... Director Rae Howell has recently been globe hopping, returning from Europe earlier this year, where she was Composer in Residence at The Visby International Centre for Composers, in Sweden. Her project is nearly complete ~ notating a book of piano solos to be published late-2010. Prior to that she was in residence at Instituto Sacatar in Bahia, Brazil. Exciting news to end 2009.... Amongst many fabulous reviews, the Sunwrae album 'Autumn Never Fall' was named #11 in top 50 on The Silent Ballet's best of 2009.... the track 'the machine' #7 in their top 50 tracks... the album was also in Headphone Commute’s Best of 2009 : Music For Watching The Snow Slowly Fall In The Moonlight (see our Facebook group).... and in January we were #8 of the top 10 most promosing artists on ABC Classic FM...
